Down The TBR #19

Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by lost in a story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.

Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when youre scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well thats going to change!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go

As before, if there are no comments below the cover, I just don’t really remember adding the book to my list.   I will be doing 15 again this week.

The World’s Most Haunted House by William J. Hall   While this sounds good, the reviews aren’t that great, so I doubt I’ll end up reading it.

February 2018 Wrap Up

I’m actually surprised that I finished as much as I did in February.  I barely read on vacation, so it took me over a week to finish one book.  Somehow I managed to read a lot this week.  Probably because I have been sick and didn’t do much around the house.  I ended up reading 8 books and finishing 1 audiobook (listened to in the car with my husband) for a total of 9 books for February.  My blog also did pretty well.

First I’ll share my blog stats.  I want to start doing this monthly to see how things are going.  I’m hoping to keep improving on the numbers.  This month was shorter, but the numbers are still good.

  • Blog Visits  2574

Some of my auto buy authors

I’ve seen a couple people post about their auto buy authors and thought I would share some of mine.  I actually have quite a few and I won’t remember to put all of them here.  Most of these are newer favorites.

Adam Silvera.  I was hooked after reading History Is All You Left Me and They Both Die At The End was so good, too.  He breaks my heart and makes me cry.  I have yet to find an author that makes me connect to the characters so much.  I will buy anything he writes.  And he’s an awesome human being.

Going with another 15 books this week.   Most that are being removed  are because I really don’t remember adding them.  So if there is no reason below the picture, that is why I took out that book.

First Lines Fridays 1/19/18

first-lines-fridays

This is a weekly meme hosted by Wandering Words, where you give the first few lines of a book to hook your readers before introducing the book.

“You’re still alive in alternate universes, Theo, but I live in the real world, where this morning you’re having an open-casket funeral.  I know you’re out there, listening.  And you should know I’m really pissed because you swore you would never die and yet here we are.  It hurts even more because this isn’t the first promise you’ve broken.”
