About/Review Policy

My name is Kristi.  I love reading (obviously), breed geckos, and I’m a homemaker.  I’m married with a grown daughter.  I also have a grandson that I adore.  I turned 40 in 2017, so I’m not the typical audience for YA and MG books, but I love them.  I’m also a moderator in TBR and Beyond.  I hope you come join us!

I generally read 2-3 books per week.  Definitely over 100 a year and I review most of those.  I’m on netgalley and edelweiss.  I have a facebook page, twitter, and instagram, too.  I review on my blog, goodreads, and amazon.

Update December 2022.  I now have four grandchildren.  One girl and three boys.

Review Policy:

Please read before contacting me.  As of May 2019, I’m getting way more requests than I’ll ever read.  I am going to be super picky.  My TBR is over 2000 books, so if it’s not already on my radar, I probably won’t read it.  Exceptions to this are from authors I know or publishers I work with since I sometimes miss book announcements.  If I do not reply back to your e-mail, it’s because I just can’t get to your book.  I’m getting quite a few e-mails per week from self published or very small publishing companies and I just can’t fit books like that in right now.  I’m very sorry and I’m sure your books are great.  I hope you can find some bloggers to review for you.

At this time, I’m not accepting any self published books.  I have a very big list of books I want to read, so I know I won’t get a chance to read most other books.  I’m also going to have to ask that you’re with a fairly well know publisher, too.   I usually have at least 10 books I want to read each month and need to be picky.  I apologize that I can’t get to every book request I get.  If you don’t hear back from me, that is likely the reason why.  I’m working with some publishers and blog tours.  I’m not going to specifically limit which publishers I’ll accept, but I love most books from Penguin Teen, Entangled Teen, TorTeen, HMH Teen, HarperTeen, Epic Reads, Simon Teen, Hachette, Inkyard Press, St Martins Press, Little Brown Books, KCP Loft, Sourcebooks Fire, Wednesday Books, Random House, Disney, Delacorte, Bloomsbury, Jimmy Patterson Presents, Rick Riordan Presents, Macmillan, Swoon Reads, Albert Whitman and other imprints with these publishers (I probably missed a few and I’m sorry for that).  If I’m having a slow month, I may be able to read something else, so it doesn’t hurt to ask.  Just please know that I can only reply to the requests I’m accepting.  I’ve been getting a lot of messages.

I do read some self published books, but it’s usually from an author I know.  Again, I apologize that I cannot read everything.  I wish there was more time for reading.

For digital books, I use a kindle.  I can get that information for you privately.   I prefer physical copies when possible.

I have a PO Box that books can be sent to.  If you need a physical address, please contact me and I will provide it privately.

Sending me books without asking will not guarantee that I will read them.  It’s unlikely that I will unless it’s an author I like or it’s already on my TBR.
