Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. You can find each week’s topic on her site.
This week’s topic is Thanksgiving Freebie.
I thought I would just post some of the many things I’m thankful for.
My husband: February will be 20 years married for us. There have been some rough spots, but for the most part, our marriage has been so easy. We are still super close and touchy. We get the comments “look how cute”, “they’re that couple”, and “always stay happy like that”. We’ve had more. I met my husband on a blind date in December 1995. We didn’t stay together, but found each other again in 1998.
My family: I am not close to a lot of people, but I am always thankful for the family in my life. My daughter, stepdaughter, soon to be son in law, granddaughter (step), grandson, soon to be another grandson, my dad, etc. I probably sound super old with all those grandkids. I was a teen mom and so was my daughter (both of us were 19).
My friends: While I call quite a few people friends, I’m most thankful for the friends who have become my family. I have no idea what I would do without them.
Pets: I’m a huge animal lover, so pets are a must. I no longer breed geckos, but I still have quite a few reptiles. I also have two dogs. Dexter is a 15 or 16 year old blind shih tzu. Ripley is an 8 year old catahoula leopard dog. While I love Dexter, Ripley is my “soul dog”. He’s my baby and so protective.
Books: Would I have this blog if it wasn’t for books? This is an obvious one. I started reading at 4 and I’ve never stopped.
Music: Music is everything. Not playing or singing. Just listening and going to concerts. Music can change my mood and it’s super helpful when my anxiety is bad.
TBR and Beyond: I am so thankful for this facebook group and all our admin, mods, and members. I’ve made some wonderful friends and have added way too many books to my TBR because of them.
Travel: Sadly, we weren’t able to go anywhere in 2020 because of covid (cancelled two trips). I’m hoping we can keep our May 2021 trip to Grenada that we have booked. I love to travel, but I struggle with flying far (claustrophobic and hard time sitting still for long). I’m hoping to keep trying countries that are closer, but still a good 5+ hours away. I want to try flying to Europe (9+ hours nonstop) by our 25th anniversary. We travel to San Diego often, but we also want to see as many countries as possible.
The fact that 2020 is almost over: I probably don’t have to say much except that I live in the US…
You: I am so thankful for everyone that takes the time to visit and read my blog.
What are you most thankful for?
Congratulations to your and your spouse on 20 years of marriage. That’s awesome!

That’s really cool that we are thankful for so many of the same things.

Thank you! We were never able to travel and just started around 2015. I’m amazed at how much it has affected me (in a good way) and I really miss it. We have a trip to Grenada booked for next May. Crossing my fingers that we can make it.

So much to be thankful for! My husband and I have been married 23 years, but together 28! (high school sweethearts) I feel the same way about us. ❤ We love to travel, too, and this year has been HARD. We miss it so much. I have the same feelings about music, too. I miss concerts!! Lovely list!
