Top Ten Tuesday 9/29/20

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.   You can find each week’s topic on her site.

This week’s topic is Favorite Book Quotes.

Since I’ve done quite a few posts with my favorite book quotes, I’m changing this up to song lyrics.

This first one is a tattoo I want to get.  It has multiple meanings for me.  I will probably just get the first part since it’s so long.

Sleep On It

Looking up I see the sun in my eyes
I feel it getting warmer
As the darkness dies
And I pray every day
That you will feel this way
Can you hear me when I say
You’re not alone

Go chase your paradise
Into the waves
This tide will carry you
Don’t run away
Light a fire
That burns through the whole night
You will shine
Brighter than the sunrise
Dive right in
Stop coasting through your own life
Learn to value your time

State Champs

Rainy days make me feel like the dream is dead

With Confidence

I will try to hold you up
Through those times when you are gone
Despite the weather, it gets better
You won’t do this alone

Fall Out Boy

Are we growing up or just going down?
It’s just a matter of time until we’re all found out
take our tears and put them on ice
Cause I swear I’d burn this city down to show you the light
There’s a drug in the thermostat to warm the room up
And there’s another around to help us bend your trust
I’ve got a sunset in my veins
And I need to take a pill to make this town feel okay

Story Untold

Day in, day out
I’m looking for something better
I’m losing count
And time won’t wait forever

So I’m moving to California
Where the sun shines bright and they party all night
I’m moving to California
Where the palm trees sway and they surf all day
Say goodbye to yesterday
Throwing all my fears away
You can come with me if you wanna
Or I’ll see you around cause I’m moving to California

I can’t sleep cause what if I dream

Of going back to San Diego
We bought a one way ticket
So we can go see the Cure
And listen to our favorite songs in the parking lot

Dashboard Confessional

And you stood at your door with your hands on my waist
and you kissed me like you meant it

Something Corporate

If you could be my punk rock princess,
I would be your garage band king.
You can tell me why you just don’t fit in
And how you’re gonna be something

My eyes are tired, blood pumped with caffeine
This place feels more and more like nowhere to me
I’m sick of waiting for a fire to ignite
I could just leave here without a goodbye

I’ll burn down this bridge
And set my life up in smoke
You used to be mine
My world used to shine like gold

Boys of Fall

In a moment I feel so weightless
I’m so in love with you
I’m so lost in every single word
That you say, every breath that you take
So numb me up like novocaine

I wanna be all you think about
Anything and everything you dream about
As if I had it all figured out
I wanna be the one you can’t breathe without

Alkaline Trio

Fine time to fake a seizure
Feel your mouth on mine, you’re saving me

Whatever happened to that silly dream you had?
I want to make it real
I’d love to rub your back
Like a plane crash that never hits the ground
I fall in love with you
I’m nose over tail for you
Your voice like the sound of sirens to a house on fire
You’re saving me

Okay, I know that’s more than ten.  But I could keep going on.  Song lyrics are everything.

What type of music to you listen to?  Do you listen to any of these bands?  Do you have a favorite (or ten)?

I'm Kristi. I'm a wife, mom, and grandma. I have been breeding leopard geckos for ten years. I love to read and have been trying to review more books (the reason for this blog besides wanting to talk about books with everyone). I also love music and going to concerts, mostly punk and pop punk.
