Can’t Wait Wednesday 12/11/19

Can’t Wait Wednesday/Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Wishful Endings and was previously hosted by Breaking the Spine.   It was created to show off a future release that you are excited for.

I apologize if there are any repeats.

Top Five Tuesday 12/10/19

Top Five Tuesday was created by Bionic Book Worm.  You can find the topics on the blog I just linked.

This week’s topic is books I didn’t get to in 2019.

There were so many books I planned on reading that got skipped over this year.  I decided to pick the ones that were actually on my TBR cart.

Goodreads Monday 12/9/19

Goodreads Monday is hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners.  All you have to do is show off a book from your TBR that you’re looking forward to reading.

It’s getting hard to remember which ones I’ve done already, so I’m sorry if you see a book pop up on these more than once.  It will happen.

Take the Mic by multiple authors

A young adult anthology featuring fictional stories of everyday resistance.
You might be the kind of person who stands up to online trolls.
Or who marches to protest injustice.

Perhaps you are #DisabledAndCute and dancing around your living room, alive and proud.

Or perhaps you are the trans mentor that you wish you had when you were younger.

Maybe you call out false allies, or stand up to loved ones.

Maybe you speak your truth and drop the mic, or maybe you take it with you when you leave.

This anthology features fictional stories–in poems, prose, and art–that reflect a slice of the varied and limitless ways that readers like you resist every day. Take the Mic‘s powerful collection of stories features work by literary luminaries and emerging talent alike, including Newbery-winner Jason Reynolds, New York Times bestseller Samira Ahmed, anthologist and contributor Bethany C. Morrow, Darcie Little Badger, Keah Brown, Laura Silverman, L.D. Lewis, Sofia Quintero, Ray Stoeve, Yamile Mendez, and Connie Sun, with cover and interior art by Richie Pope.

Have you read Take the Mic yet?  Do you like anthologies?

Down the TBR Hole #111

Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by lost in a story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.

Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when youre scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well thats going to change!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go

Friday Face Off 12/6/19

I saw this on Lynn’s Book Blog and thought it would be fun to do.  I may not do every week, but I’m going to try to do as many as I can.

The Friday Face Off meme was created by Books by Proxy .  This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favorite book covers.  The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme, choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favorite.

November 2019 Blog Stats

November was a super slow month on my blog.  I expected it with the holidays.  December will be worse since I’ll likely have less posts up, so my goal is to make sure January starts a nice jump up again.  I should have more time to comment and blog hop by then.

November 2019 Wrap Up

November was a bit slow for me with my reading, but I kind of knew it would be.  I started off strong, but then my reading slowed down a lot.  I still managed to read 11 books and I liked all of them.

Midnight Beauties  4 stars

A Constellation of Roses  5 stars

Bring Me Their Hearts  (older arc)  5 stars

November 2019 Update for Yearly Challenges

I’m going to keep this a bit shorter today since my hand and wrist are bothering me.  I just wanted to update how I’m doing on my challenges since November ended.
