The Netgalley Book Tag

I’m slowly trying to do some tags even though I don’t think I’ll ever catch up.  I was tagged twice for this one.   Thank you for the tags and I hope you check out the bloggers below.

Novel Lives    TBR and Beyond

Rules

  • Link back to the tag’s creator: Kourtni at Kourtni Reads
  • Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
  • Answer the questions the best you can. If you don’t use NetGalley, you can substitute other sites or places where you get books!
  • Tag a few people to do this too!

Auto-Approved | Who’s One Author Whose Books You Automatically Want to Read, regardless of What They Are About?

Well shit.  Everyone knows I won’t just say one person and I’ll forget a ton.  Derek Millman, Kerri Maniscalco, Kara Thomas, Jen Wilde, Jenn Bennet, and so many more.

Request | What Makes You Want to Request a Book on NetGalley?

I used to just request like crazy, but now I’m a lot pickier.  Almost any book I request is something I’ve already had my eye on.  Something I am super excited about.  No more requesting random books just because they sound like they’ll be good.

Feedback Ratio | Do You Review Every Book You Read? If Not, How Do You Decide What Books to Review?

Almost all of them.  I think I’m around 85%.  I never caught up on older requests.  As for the newer ones (the past year), I have reviewed almost all of them.  The only reason why I skipped something is when I couldn’t get the format to work or when I just lost interest.

Badges | If You Could Create One Badge to Display on Your Blog, What Would It Be for?

Maybe something for the genres I review most often?  Maybe diversity if there was a way to do that.

Wish for It | What’s One Book That You Are Absolutely Dying to Read?

Not necessarily on netgalley (yet), but probably Blood & Honey, Ember Queen, When We Were Magic, One Of Us Is Next, or A Wicked Magic.  See, can’t just pick one.  Ever.

2019 NetGalley Challenge | What Was the Last Book That You Received as an ARC That You Reviewed? If You’ve Never Received One, What’s the Last Book You Reviewed?

From Netgalley, I forgot to review for a bit and posted three on the same day.  The one I read most recently that was reviewed out of those was Every Stolen Breath by Kimberly Gabriel.  I haven’t been getting as many books on Netgalley lately.  My last couple reviewed were physical copies.

As usual, I’m not going to tag anyone.  But if you want to do this one, consider yourself tagged.  Do you use Netgalley?  Do you read arcs or just finished books?

My name is Kristi and I review books and mod on TBR and Beyond on Facebook. I love to travel and go to concerts. I've been married for over 20 years. I listen to a lot of pop punk. Otherwise, I'm pretty boring. We do have four grandchildren now and try to see them monthly since they don't live close. I read mostly YA and adult mystery/thrillers. I also read a lot of middle grade and some adult romance. You can also find me on facebook, twitter, and instagram (don't post often).

  1. I’m so glad you had a chance to do the tag~ I’m behind on them too ! You just added a list of authors to ones I’ve not heard of and need to take a look at!!! 🙂

Your Netgalley issue with books you can’t catch up on from the past is my Edelweiss life lol! And I have also gotten much better at being choosier at what I pick!

AND YES TO When We Were Magic! I’m waiting for it to hit NG because I’ve given up with SandS on EW. Everything just sits in pending till publishing day and then drops off. But it gets approved on NG so it is like ok- and they seemed to have fixed the issue with their galleys not being Kindle formatted. Or at least Chosen is Kindle formatted so hopefully it is fixed.

    1. I think I saw When We Were Magic on Netgalley, but don’t hold that to me 100%. The link I got for it took me to netgalley (for the publisher invite), so I figured they’d be adding it. I hope you’re approved for it. When I got the link, it was just pdf. So I messaged the publisher back and they added kindle that same day. Fingers crossed for you.

      1. It is…. I requested it yesterday. I dont have a problem with S and S on NG so I’m not worried. I was approved for Chosen. I’m sure this will come through! I dont know what or why S and S went through that whole PDF phase. I mean but why? What are they even thinking? It makes absolutely no sense lol

      2. I have no idea. I just got something today from harper as a pdf which was super weird for them. It didn’t transfer right for me and I can’t read it. 😦 But good luck on When We Were Magic. S&S is hit or miss for me. I get some, but not everything.
