Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. You can find each week’s topic on her site.
This week’s topic is Titles I’d Give Different Names To. I’m not creative enough to make up a different title. I had to do this one a little differently.
This was a tough one to do. I know titles are given for a reason. But there are some things that bother me with book titles. Usually it’s titles that are too long, ones I can’t spell, or titles that don’t make sense or are just plain weird (though I’m sure they do once you read the book). So I chose 10 that fit into those categories for me.
Titles That Are Too Long And I Run Out Of Room Writing Them In My Planner:
My Almost Flawless Tokyo Dream Life
The Strange Fascinations of Noah Hypnotik
Triston Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky
Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune
I know there are books with much longer titles, but I thought of those right away. I tend to mess up longer titles often.
Titles That Don’t Make Sense To Me or Are Hard To Spell:
It I know this is kind of cool since it’s vague. But it sucks asking “do you have It”. It’s confusing.
Neverworld Wake I haven’t read this and I’m sure the title will make sense when I do.
A People’s History of Heaven I would never pick this up based off the title, but the book was actually really good. It fits the book, but I think it could have been better.
Pretty in Punxsutawney Spelling. I suck at it. I had to look this up each time I mentioned the book. It’s also a bit odd, though I know it’s a play off the movies in the book.
Titles That Are Just Odd:
Dexter Is Delicious Maybe he is? But super weird.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep I don’t think this one needs any explanation.
What makes you want to change a book’s title? Did you to TTT? If so, make sure you comment with your link.
