Friday Face Off 10/11/19

I saw this on Lynn’s Book Blog and thought it would be fun to do.  I may not do every week, but I’m going to try to do as many as I can.

The Friday Face Off meme was created by Books by Proxy .  This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favorite book covers.  The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme, choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favorite.

This week’s theme was to find a book with a hotel or inn on the cover.  The first thing I thought of was The Shining.

This was a bit tough.  I really like the last two covers (that circle kept me from choosing cover 5) , but this is the one I’m picking this week.

I’m not sure why I choose this one if I’m being honest.  I kind of prefer darker covers for books like this.  But I like how this was simple with a big focus on the hotel.

Which cover is your favorite?  Did you do Friday Face Off this week?

  1. I liked the last two as well!😍😍 The one you picked is really great too! ❤️❤️
I haven’t read The Shining yet, or any novel by Stephen King, to be honest…hoping to start one before the end of October! 👻👻❤️

    1. I tried reading Stephen King in high school (may have been middle school) and couldn’t really get into his writing. But so many people love his stories. I think the issue I had was that it took forever for anything to really happen. I might be a bit impatient. I hope you end up liking whatever one you try. Maybe I’ll give him a chance again one day. For now, I’ll keep enjoying the movies.

      1. Oh? Is that so? I didn’t know of this shortcoming with his books? To be fair, although I know I SHOULD, I haven’t ever REALLY been that excited to read his books, to be honest! 😅😅

  2. I think my favourite cover is the last one, the one with the little boy shown from the back. There is just something about it that speaks to me! Great post! 🙂
