END OF THE LIE by Diana Rodriguez Wallach

End of the Lie (Anastasia Phoenix #3) by Diana Rodriguez Wallach

Publication Date: March 4, 2019

Publisher: Entangled Teen

With her harrowing tale of espionage and near death experiences finally out in the open, Anastasia Phoenix thought things would be better. That she and her friends had outsmarted Department D, the criminal empire her parents helped create.

She thought wrong.

Former friends have turned to enemies, causing more innocent lives to get swept up into the dangerous world her parents created. Now it’s up to Anastasia to stop the damage before anyone else gets hurt—or worse. She embarks on a treacherous trail from Poland to Prague, and old rivals emerge at every turn. But when the final confrontation occurs, will she be too late to protect the ones she loves… or even herself?

Please be aware that this is a book three, so my review will contain spoilers for the first books.

End of the Lie was a great way to conclude the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy.  I really enjoyed this book and thought it wrapped up well.

End of the Lie starts off where book two ended.  Anastasia, Keira, Julian, Charlotte, and Marcus are hiding out in Europe.  They have decided that they need to find all their parents and put an end to Department D.   Anastasia is still dealing with the news that Urban is her father and Keira is struggling with internet trolls after speaking openly about what happened to her.

After Tyson was killed, Regina changed.  She started making videos that she posted online about Department D and The Phoenix family.  She blamed Anastasia for Tyson’s murder.  Because of this, she has put her life at risk.  Anastasia and Marcus fly back to Boston to talk to her, but when they get there, they are surprised to find out that Regina is gone.  Her parents believe she was kidnapped, but she left a note, so the police believe she ran away.  Detective Dawkins decides to help them by giving them all the info she has.  Marcus and Anastasia get closer while home, but they are quickly back in Europe hunting down their parents and trying to save Regina.

The whole team heads to multiple countries on the hunt for the parents.  They also find out that Regina left with Sophia, so they are looking for both of them.  It always seems like the parents are one step ahead of them.

The pacing was good and I enjoyed how everything finished.  I love Julian and Charlotte, so I was happy to see their relationship growing.  Same with Anastasia and Marcus.  This found family group worked well together and I enjoyed their friendship and love for each other.

I gave this book 4 stars.  Thank you to Entangled Teen and Netgalley for my copy for review.
