Goodreads Monday is hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners. All you have to do is show off a book from your TBR that you’re looking forward to reading.
Gunslinger Girl by Lyndsay Ely
James Patterson presents a bold new heroine—a cross between Katniss Everdeen and Annie Oakley: Serendipity Jones, the fastest sharpshooter in tomorrow’s West.
Seventeen-year-old Serendipity “Pity” Jones inherited two things from her mother: a pair of six shooters and perfect aim. She’s been offered a life of fame and fortune in Cessation, a glittering city where lawlessness is a way of life. But the price she pays for her freedom may be too great….
In this extraordinary debut from Lyndsay Ely, the West is once again wild after a Second Civil War fractures the U.S. into a broken, dangerous land. Pity’s struggle against the dark and twisted underbelly of a corrupt city will haunt you long after the final bullet is shot.
I’ll be honest. I didn’t think I would want to read this book. I’m not a fan of westerns. But this was a group read for TBR and Beyond and Lyndsay did a live chat with us. Listening to her talk about the book changed my mind. Plus, I’ve loved all the James Patterson Presents books so far. So now I really want to give this one a try.
Have you read Gunslinger Girl? What are your thoughts on it?
This looks interesting! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about it.
