A look back at my 2018 goals.

2018 was my first full year blogging.  I wasn’t sure how to decide on goals, but I did have some written out.  I thought it would be good to see if I met any of them.

Get 1000 followers on blog.

I am at over 1300 followers right now.

Make more blogger friends.

I definitely feel like I’ve made some great connections and friendships this year.

Listen to more audiobooks.

My husband and I now listen to them in the car all the time.  I’ve definitely listened to more this year than I have before.

Get physical arcs from publishers.

This one was tough, but I did start receiving a few here and there.  I am so very thankful for these.

Do more challenges and readathons.

Being in TBR and Beyond has helped me with this goal.  I do every monthly challenge and participated in multiple readathons there.

Read more middle grade.

I definitely did this, especially during a readathon last spring.  It looks like 13 if I include graphic novels.

Read 3 books published before 2018.

It looks like I read 6 books, not including graphic novels or audiobooks/rereads.  Most were 2017 releases, but I believe one or two were earlier.

So it looks like I met every goal I set for myself for 2018!  Did you set goals?  How did you do?

  1. The only goal I met and accomplished was my Goodreads goal of reading 50 books across 2018. I had a couple of other reading goals such as finish any completed series I owned, and read a couple of books in either French or Spanish but I didn’t manage them unfortunately. I ended up re-reading a lot of books in 2018 which meant that I forgot all about my goals. Hopefully I’ll be able to stick to those I’ve made for 2019. Only time will tell!

      1. Thank you, although I think I reached something like 63 books because I always keep the goal at a very manageable number for me. It’s not as many as in recent years but I’m still pleased with that.

  2. That’s an awesome idea to write out your goals for the year and then look back and see how you did on them. Congrats on so many followers! Sounds like you had an overall good year and here’s hoping 2019 is even better 🙂

  3. Congratulations on making all your goals!!! I set a reading goal of 12 books last year and flew by it haha so this year I’m aiming for 52 books, one book a week!
