Down The TBR Hole #58

Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by lost in a story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.

Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when youre scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well thats going to change!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go

I’m going to start doing these a little differently to save picture space/time.  I’ll still list all 15-20 books, but I’m only going to add a few pictures.  It will likely be the books I’m keeping unless there are none for the week.  Then I’ll add a few random ones so it’s not super boring.

I'm Kristi. I'm a wife, mom, and grandma. I have been breeding leopard geckos for ten years. I love to read and have been trying to review more books (the reason for this blog besides wanting to talk about books with everyone). I also love music and going to concerts, mostly punk and pop punk.

  1. Out of all of those, the only one that I’ve read was Wink Poppy Midnight, but it is definitely worth keeping! It was one of my favorite books of last year, and eventually I hope to own a copy of it, it was that good. A bit sad and grim at times, but otherwise I loved it! Good job in removing so many books. I somehow went from 3400 to 5000 books in the span of a few months, and need to get rid of a lot again, myself, lol.

      1. Thank you! And I only made my TBR huge because I have no self control, lol. I’ve thinned through the list several times, but for some reason it just gets right back to being big again. Sigh…. Good luck with your own TBR. 2000 books is still a lot!
