Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by lost in a story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well that’s going to change!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go
I’m going to start doing these a little differently to save picture space/time. I’ll still list all 15-20 books, but I’m only going to add a few pictures. It will likely be the books I’m keeping unless there are none for the week. Then I’ll add a few random ones so it’s not super boring.

I really stopped doing much of anything for my birthday awhile ago. I kind of pretend they don’t happen for the most part. But today is my birthday. I’m not doing anything special, but hoping to get some reading done.
My dad gave me money, so I bought books (duh). You’ll get to see some of them in my next haul post. A few are preorders though, so those will be late.
Does anyone else have a fall birthday? I love September (and October), so I’m really happy to have my birthday during this time.
October is going to be a crazy month for books. Just October 2nd alone is insane! I know this isn’t all the books coming out, but I tried to find a lot of the more anticipated ones. Always double check the release dates, too. I get most from Goodreads and I’ve found they’re not always 100% correct. There are a couple that are releasing on weird dates (October 1 and October 4). I just added those to October 2nd to make it easier.
*arc I have
&book I’ve read
+book I have preordered already (I will be adding more)

Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand
Beware of the woods and the dark, dank deep.
He’ll follow you home, and he won’t let you sleep.
Who are the Sawkill Girls?
Marion: the new girl. Awkward and plain, steady and dependable. Weighed down by tragedy and hungry for love she’s sure she’ll never find.
Zoey: the pariah. Luckless and lonely, hurting but hiding it. Aching with grief and dreaming of vanished girls. Maybe she’s broken—or maybe everyone else is.
Val: the queen bee. Gorgeous and privileged, ruthless and regal. Words like silk and eyes like knives, a heart made of secrets and a mouth full of lies.
Their stories come together on the island of Sawkill Rock, where gleaming horses graze in rolling pastures and cold waves crash against black cliffs. Where kids whisper the legend of an insidious monster at parties and around campfires.
Where girls have been disappearing for decades, stolen away by a ravenous evil no one has dared to fight… until now.
