It’s not very easy for me to write about myself, but I’ll do my best to share a bit.  I’ve probably mentioned a lot of these already (sorry about that).

I love tattoos.  I have 5 right now and I want so many more.  I just need to find the money and decide what I want.  I have ideas, but need to figure them all out.

I have been breeding leopard geckos for over 10 years.  As much as I love it, my time breeding is coming to an end soon.  It’s starting to feel like more of a chore than a hobby and I want to be able to travel more.

I have really bad anxiety, especially social anxiety.  Even when I want to do something, I barely sleep the night before and sometimes for days before.  I often times struggle to leave the house, but once I’m gone, I’m usually pretty good.  Certain crowds will get to me at times.  I had my first panic attack at a Best Buy years ago.

Even with my anxiety, I love going to concerts.  There is something so special about music and it always improves my mood.  The crowds can bother me a times, but I often find myself lost in the music.  I focus so much on that and forget about all the people around me (except for the shoving).

Most people assume I’m younger because I read YA and listen to pop punk bands.  But I’ll be 41 in September.

I had my daughter at a young age.  It’s really odd with my family.  My mom was born in 1957, I was born in 1977, my daughter was born in 1997, and my grandson was born in 2017.  I do hope this trend ends with him though.  We were all way too young to be having babies.

My dream since I was a teen was to move out west.  I love it there, but it’s so hard to move away from family/friends and for my husband to find a good paying job.  I still dream daily about southern California though (as close to San Diego as I can get).  For now, we’ll continue to visit.  I’ve been there 3 times in the past few years and can’t wait to go back again.  But I also want to travel other places, too.

Thank you all for reading a little bit about me!

I'm Kristi. I'm a wife, mom, and grandma. I have been breeding leopard geckos for ten years. I love to read and have been trying to review more books (the reason for this blog besides wanting to talk about books with everyone). I also love music and going to concerts, mostly punk and pop punk.

  1. Great post!

I like the idea of tattoos and think when they’re done well they look amazing, but I’m too indecisive to commit to one thing on my body forever and trust myself not to hate it in a few months or years. Social anxiety sucks, mine happens the other way round, provided I’ve gotten up the energy to go someplace with people I spend days afterwards agonising and obsessing over everything I said and a million imagined faux pas and hating myself for potentially hurting someone’s feelings or offending them, so I rarely even bother. Concerts and pop-punk are my favourite too, I got to meet Bowling For Soup a couple of years ago and it was the best day ever.

    1. Are we related? I do the exact same thing. I’ll stress over things I said or did years before even. I’m so afraid of hurting and offending people. And meeting Bowling For Soup is so awesome! I’ve seen them live a couple times and they’re so fun.

      1. Maybe, yeah I get that like when you’re about to do something completely unrelated to the memory but it’ll just pop up and be like “remember that ONE TIME …”

  2. This was a great post. I am similar to you in some ways, I am in my 40’s , I have anxiety (other mental health issues, all intermingled) was born to a young mum and was a young mum myself, also I have grandchildren. I have 1 tat but am getting 2 more very soon. (1 is snowflakes as I love winter, especially snow, the other the sign of the Deathly Hallows- huge JK Rowlings wizarding world fan)
It was good getting to know a little about you. 🙂

    1. Thank you! I tend to like younger things, so I think people I meet online think of me as being younger. The YA books, the music I listen to, the concerts I go to, and all the hair colors I get probably confuse people. I’m mature with a lot of things, but I think I’m just young at heart.
