Down the TBR #38

Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by lost in a story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.

Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when youre scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well thats going to change!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go

As before, if there are no comments below the cover, I just don’t really remember adding the book to my list.   I will be doing 15 again this week.

REMOVE ALL 5

Southern Spirits    I actually got book four from netgalley awhile back and really liked it.  So I should probably pick up book one at some point.  KEEP

Heart of the Dead    REMOVE

Death by Roses   REMOVE

Scent of Murder   REMOVE

Shutter    This still sounds pretty good.  KEEP

REMOVE ALL 5

I kept 2 and removed 13 this week.

  1. I actually read Trinkets, Cupcakes, and Other Deadly Magics and really enjoyed it! It was a fun paranormal romance filled with magic and adventure, and I remember giving it four or five stars a few years back. The rest of the books on the list I have absolutely no idea about, but all of them look interesting. (Come on, self-control. I will not go over the list and add every book to my TBR.)

      1. And sometimes you/I fail anyway, lol. I applaud you for knocking out books on your TBR pile in your Goodreads, however. Mine is a bit daunting to start out with at over 3,000 want-to-read books! I know I need to thin it down some, but I really have no time to do so at the moment. *heavy sigh*

      2. But that’s the pain of friendship, right? Books and laughter to hide our tears of never being able to finish our massive TBR piles. =) I might just start cleaning out my TBR on Goodreads anyway. You’ve inspired me. (Or at least made me feel guilty.) Lol.

  2. I have tried this one, but it’s so hard to determine what books I need to let go off (that little b!tch in my head keeps saying I’ll get to them all). Do you have any advice?
