Popular (mostly YA) books I haven’t read yet.

I started reading YA again pretty late, so there are so many super popular books/series that I haven’t read yet.  Most are on my TBR and I even own quite a few of them.  I thought I would share them today.  I think a lot of them will shock you.

First I’ll start with some authors I haven’t read yet.

Sarah J. Maas

Cassandra Clare

JK Rowling

Victoria Aveyard

Maggie Stiefvater

Marissa Meyer

Laini Taylor

I know, I know.  I need to read all of them asap!

Now for some specific books I haven’t read yet.

As you can see, a lot of these are series.  It’s just so hard to find time to start a whole series of books (and sometimes I like to wait until they’re all out).   I look at these and feel shame though.  I’m positive that I’ll end up liking all these books and authors.  I just need to push myself to start reading them soon.

Have you read all of these already or are there ones you still need to read, too?

I'm Kristi. I'm a wife, mom, and grandma. I have been breeding leopard geckos for ten years. I love to read and have been trying to review more books (the reason for this blog besides wanting to talk about books with everyone). I also love music and going to concerts, mostly punk and pop punk.

  1. I haven’t read Nevernight, The Darkest Minds or Legend yet. I won’t be reading Carry On. I didn’t like Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell so I just don’t think I’ll like Carry On. I haven’t read anything by Marrissa Meyer yet or Maggie S. I’m not sure if I’ll read Legend. I didn’t like The Young Elites by Marie Lu so I’m nervous to try it.

Don’t be ashamed. There are so many books out it’s hard to keep up. Besides who cares what’s popular as long as you’re reading for you that’s all that matters.

  2. I haven’t read a Darker Shade of Magic yet either! I’ve heard such great things about it! I really enjoyed Six of Crows, the Cruel Prince, and The Darkest Minds. I was underwhelmed by Legend, but still thought it was a fun read. I hope you give these books a try some time! ❤

  3. I read Caraval finally this year to get it over with. It was all right! I also read The Cruel Prince this month (which was meeeeeh) and I need to read Six of Crows. Better late then never for joining the YA book train! 😀 Have you read The Hunger Games or The Selection by Kiera Cass? I LOVE The Selection. How about Meg Cabot? She writes The Mediator and The Princess Diaries and more…

The Gallaghers Girls by Ally Carter is good if you want a cute spy novel series that are really short.

  4. Six of Crows and A Darker Shade of Magic are among my favs – incredible world-building and character development in both. I read The Darkest Minds, but didn’t go beyond the first book – same with Nevernight. I know I’m in the minority on both of those!
