Book Launch & Signing for Love, Hate & Other Filters by Samira Ahmed

My husband and I were lucky enough to make it to the book launch for Love, Hate & Other Filters by Samira Ahmed at Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville, IL.

The beginning was a prepared Q&A and then they opened it up for questions from the audience.  Samira talked a lot about why she wrote this book and the location (she grew up close to Naperville).  Her adorable kids were there and asked questions which totally won the questions part for me.  Her 7 year old daughter asked if she could read the book (not yet) and her 5 year old son raised his hand to ask if he could have some water.  They were so cute.  Samira also talked about how she researched film for the book.

After the q&a, we had a signing line for the book.  I had ticket #4, so we got up there quickly.

Samira’s mom made an Indian desert and gave it out to all of us.  Rachel (who works at the store) also handed out these handmade quote cards for all of us.

We both enjoyed everything about the event and I’m super happy that we were able to make it there in the snow.

Have you read Love, Hate & Other Filters yet?  Do you get to go to author events?

  1. I love this post! As person who has never been to an author event, I really appreciated the brief descriptions and captured images! I read LHAOF and I absolutely loved it. I even gave it 4.5/5 stars in my review
