Angie Thomas & Becky Albertalli book signing.

Becky Albertalli and Angie Thomas have quickly become some of my favorite authors, so I was thrilled to have an opportunity to meet them at Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville, IL yesterday. They spent about thirty five minutes discussing their books and answering audience questions before signing books.

There were some great questions and Becky and Angie had a great relationship.  They were very comfortable with each other and it seemed like they had a true friendship. That was great to see.   Both talked a little bit about their books that are being made into movies.  There was a big crowd there.  If I had to guess, I would say around 100 people. My friend and I were numbers 59 & 60 and there were a lot of people still waiting after us.  The crowd was respectful and you could tell that everyone there was a huge fan of the books.   Definitely a great experience.

This picture was one that Anderson’s took of some of the crowd early on.

I cannot recommend these three books enough.  I really enjoyed them all and they have made my all time favorites list.

Angie Thomas wrote The Hate U Give which I have recently reviewed on my blog.  This is such an amazingly powerful book that I think everyone should read.

Becky Albertalli has two books out and I loved them both so much. Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda and The Upside of Unrequited.

As usual, I did purchase a few other things from Anderson’s.  It has quickly become my favorite place to buy books.  I didn’t have quite enough time to really go through everything, but that’s probably good.  I still managed to grab these before the signing.

I'm Kristi. I'm a wife, mom, and grandma. I have been breeding leopard geckos for ten years. I love to read and have been trying to review more books (the reason for this blog besides wanting to talk about books with everyone). I also love music and going to concerts, mostly punk and pop punk.
